Swisscave Classic Vs. Swisscave Premium

Swisscave divides their wine coolers into the Classic and the Premium range. Both are high quality, reliable units but there are a few features available on the Premium range, which differ from the Classic.

The main thing to consider is the aesthetic differences between the two ranges. Premium models allow you to choose between white, blue and amber lighting which is featured down the sides of the cabinet, allowing each shelf to be highlighted. The Classic range however only features blue lighting from the ceiling.

Another feature to note between the ranges is the difference in shelving. Premium models are fitted with up to 14 shelves in beech or dark sapele wood. Swisscave Premium models also have variations of shelving which will allow you house a variety of bordeaux/burgundy bottles (normally a 50/50 split on the overall capacity). However, the Classic ranges are fitted with a lower number of shelves, in beech wood only and catered for Bordeaux bottles as standard.

Swisscaves Premium models are also fitted with quieter, more efficient internal quality components. Both the Classic and Premium models are handle-less as standard, but have the option to add different coloured handles if required.

Premium Edition

With a wide operating temperature range of 5-20C this unit is perfect for use as a service wine cooler or it can also be utilised as a long term storage unit for your collection since it has a charcoal filter. With 2 temperature zones you can use the upper zone (warmer) for storage andlower zone (cooler) for service temperatures or both zones for serving temperatures.

The Premium edition from Swisscave offers aprecious black stainless steel frame rim with a lock - you have the option to remove the handle or add display shelves and your wines will look great whilst being stored correctly.

14 pull-out mahogany shelves with attractive grip bars that add a touch of class to the wine cooler and is something different in the wine cooler industry. The interior is also lit up by LED's which are also mounted on the side walls to ensure you can see every layer of bottles easily.

Swisscave products are designed around Bordeaux bottle of a length of up to 30-31cm and diameter of 7.5-8cm. The WLI-460DF has space for oversized bottles i.e Magnums on the bottom shelf.Mixed shape bottles will reduce the overall capacity to 94.

Ventilation and Install requirements:

TheWLI-460DF isdesigned as a built in unit, designed for in column use. Usually an integrated wine cooler requires additional ventilation requirements however, the new Premium line from Swisscave now has its own in built ventilation system so it is as simple as sliding the wine cooler into a housing and leaving it to it.
